La Mer is located in between Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay, spanning a vast space of 1.24 million square meters. La Mer comprises of two upscale residential neighborhoods – The North Island and The South Island. These neighborhoods include exclusive beachfront villas. The main fun zones are The Beach and The Entertainment Hub. The Beach is a long, long stretch of delicious turquoise blue seas and sugar-fine sands.
The Entertainment hub is where you’ll find the most fun; there’s a surf park, a trampoline park, a waterpark, a cinema, and a gym. If that weren’t enough, there are a number of cafes, restaurants, and shops – about 130 establishments in all. There’s just one thing that comes to mind – you’ll need several days to fully appreciate and enjoy La Mer!
Activities at La Mer Beach – The Endless Fun You Can Have!
There’s no end to the fun you can have at La Mer. Whatever be your age or inclination, La Mer has the perfect activity for you.
1. Beach Fun
When it comes to the things to do in La Mer Dubai, it’s the beach that comes first to mind. Imagine the wind in your hair, sand in your toes and the spread of blue in front of you. There are cozy private cabanas at Sea Breeze for lounging with a book, and plenty of beach sports and water play for active fun.
2. Regular Water-sports
Whether you’re at The North Beach or The South Beach – you can enjoy plenty of water-sports. Try your hand at surfing, kite-surfing, banana-boating, kayaking, paddling, and water-biking at The South Beach. There are several rentals that offer the equipment you need.
3. Motorized Water-sports
If you’re into fly-boarding, Jet-skiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and other motorized water fun, get to The North Beach of La Mer Dubai. There are plenty of rentals, so you don’t have to worry about where to obtain the expensive equipment. Plus, if you’ve never played any of the motorized sports on offer, you can obtain coaching lessons at The North Beach as well.

For kids and those who love water rides, Laguna Water Park is just the ticket. The star attraction of Laguna Water Park is the WaveOz 180, the Ultimate Surf Machine. There are only three 180-degree surf simulators in the world, and this is one of them. On this, huge waves crash into the wave simulator that’s 187 feet, wall to wall. It’s a sea-facing Surf Machine, and you’ll feel like you’re surfing on the actual sea, on a lucky day when the pipes are high. Laguna Water Park also has several other rides to make kids happy. There’s a kiddie splash pool, water slides, a large swimming pool, lazy rivers and more to make your day complete.

If your kids cannot stand still, take them to Hawa Hawa, the dune-shaped inflatable playground. There’s one of these in Japan; La Mer has the second. There are two dunes and seven peaks, all made out of a tensile membrane that allows you to bounce on it. It’s an activity that’s fun for kids and adults. There’s a weight limit though – you cannot be over 99 kgs to enjoy bouncing at Hawa Hawa.

Whether you’re having fun at The South Beach or at The North Beach – when you start hankering for something spicy, you don’t have to go far. La Mer has over 50 restaurants and cafes, serving everything from spicy Indian curries to the freshest seafood.
If you’re craving spicy Indian with a twist, head over to MASTI, which means ‘mischief’ in Hindi. Try the quirk items on offer – paneer lasagne, butter chicken pizza – it’s fun all the way at this cool lounge and bar. Feel like hammering some seafood and extracting the delectable within? You can do so at Aprons & Hammers, a seafood restaurant where you order a bucket of shellfish, put on an apron and get smashing. With 50 places to eat, you’ll be spoilt for choice at La Mer.
La Mer- A Shopper’s Beachfront Haven
La Mer wouldn’t be perfect if there was no place to shop! However, this perfect beachfront haven has a treasure trove of high street brand stores, cozy boutiques, and other concept stores. La Mer – An Art-lover’s Delight
If you love art, then you’ll never want to leave La Mer. The walls here are covered with inspired graffiti and humorous murals that are a treat to see. The images range from camels walking in the desert to multi-colored candy, too funny faces and much more. The artwork is vibrant, contemporary, minimalist and perfect for a sea-facing neighborhood. Speaking of deliberate contemporary art, do check out The Wharf while you’re there. Here you’ll find an overwhelming amount of steel items, wooden barrels, broken trucks and worn-out drums, arranged in a randomly-artistic way. The Wharf looks as though it’s something from the future, and totally accidental and a bit out of place in such a cool place, but it works somehow.
Conclusion
La Mer is a public beach neighborhood; that means you don’t pay the entry fee to enjoy it. Independent attractions such as Laguna Water Park and Hawa Hawa do charge a nominal fee though. It’s best to visit La Mer during the winter, from October to February. You can spend all your time exploring the many delights at La Mer without worrying about boiling in the heat.
