You can also visit some of the local markets for last minute souvenir shopping. Take this day to pack your bags and check out of your hotel, before reaching the airport to catch your homebound flight.

]]>The post What to Wear When Visiting Tanah Lot Temple: Dress Code & Etiquette Guide appeared first on Things to Do, City Guides, Itineraries, & Travel Tips - Rayna Tours Blog.
]]>Yes, all visitors are expected to follow the Tanah Lot dress code to make their visit here a respectful and seamless experience. The core idea is to dress modestly as a gesture of respect for the region’s culture, religion, and age-old traditions. While foreigners are not permitted to enter the temple’s innermost sanctum, they are still required to adhere to the appropriate dress standards when exploring the temple and surrounding areas. So read on to discover the clothing guidelines for both men and women.
Regardless of your gender, everyone visiting Tanah Lot Temple is required to adhere to the traditional Bali temple dress code. This mainly involves covering your shoulders and knees as a sign of respect for the revered setting. Avoid wearing revealing and skimpy clothes, such as shorts, miniskirts, and tank tops. As for footwear, closed-toe shoes are acceptable for walking around the temple grounds, but be prepared to remove them before entering certain sections. Dressing appropriately not only honors local customs but also helps you connect more meaningfully with the temple’s spiritual ambiance and serene beauty.

For Women: It’s recommended to wear a sarong or traditional Balinese attire paired with a shawl.
For Men: It’s recommended to wear a sarong or traditional Balinese attire paired with headwear (Udeng) and a shawl.
With lots of walking involved, it’s best to wear a comfortable pair of sneakers or sandals. They allow for a pleasant exploration of the temple.
Knowing what not to wear while visiting the temple is just as important as knowing what’s ideal for your visit here. So the rule is simple: anything that is see-through, skimpy, or precisely considered disrespectful is strictly not recommended to wear on your visit to Tanah Lot. This includes clothing such as:
You can bring your own sarong or any other recommended attire when visiting the temple. But don’t worry if you haven’t packed one. Just outside the temple’s entrance area, you’ll find plenty of local vendors selling a wide selection of sarongs, sashes, and other traditional Balinese items. Beyond helping you dress conservatively and modestly, this traditional attire also makes a unique and authentic souvenir to take home. Now, if you don’t prefer to own one, you can also rent traditional temple attire for a nominal rate from dedicated rental outlets close to the temple’s entrance. All these will help you dress in line with the temple’s traditional clothing etiquette.
Besides observing temple outfit etiquette, women travelers to Tanah Lot Shrine should also keep in mind the following:
The best time to visit Tanah Lot is during the dry season from May to September. July and August are the peak months with heavy crowds. For the perfect balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds, consider visiting here in the shoulder months, such as May, June, or September.
Observing the following etiquette lets you have a relaxed and pleasant temple experience:
The following must-haves will help you make the most of your Tanah Lot trip.
Conclusion
Tanah Lot Temple, with its venerated ambiance and breathtaking settings, awaits your visit! So what are you waiting for? Plan your perfect trip, which meets both your travel requirements and honors the temple’s timeless customs and etiquette.

This attraction would be a fantastic addition to your family holiday, offering both adults and children a change in scenery and see how life in Abu Dhabi used to be once upon a time.
While Abu Dhabi has a vast expanse of desert dunes, you will find a few fascinating oases among them. The Al Wathba Wetland Reserve is one such oasis. A man-made lake flanks the region, a preserved nature spot that becomes home to over 4,000 pink flamingos during migration season. Kids will love spotting them and many other birds and wildlife species. Located just 30 minutes away from the Abu Dhabi city centre, this affordable excursion beyond the city limits offers a chance to enjoy Abu Dhabi’s raw and pristine natural beauty. A few minutes ahead, the landscape changes dramatically, as you will witness natural rock formations that feel otherworldly.

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Jebel Hafeet Mountain, this slice of lush green oasis is an instant nature getaway for locals from the city. Dotted with verdant date palms, a serene lake, and hot spring waters, it is the perfect spot to bond with family over a quaint picnic session outdoors or camping expeditions. ]]>Costa Smeralda is one of the largest ships sailing on the planet, offering a plethora of activities and facilities onboard while it cruises to gorgeous destinations around the world. It infuses authentic Italian flair with modern designs, technology, and conveniences, offering a unique contemporary lifestyle for its guests.
Another interesting fact about Costa Smeralda is that it is the world’s second cruise ship fully powered by liquefied natural gas. Since its first sail from Savona in 2019, it has made several voyages to fascinating Mediterranean destinations. For 2025, it has a line-up of cruises from Barcelona, Rome, Savona, Genoa, and Marseille.
The cruise ship features 20 decks, comprising 1,550 balcony cabins, 136 suites, 11 restaurants and snack bars, and 19 bars and lounges, swimming pools, jacuzzi, and hot tubs, casinos, Broadway theatre, a water park, Spas and saunas, fitness centres Theatre lounge and so much more. On a cruise journey, it has a total carrying capacity of 6,554 people.
Though the cruise has 20 decks, the first 3 levels i.e. Decks 1 to 3 are primarily reserved as service decks, technical areas, crew cabins, and operational and storage areas that are accessed only by crews handling the logistics to keep the ship running for its passengers. These decks are off-limits for passengers. So, here we are with the Costa Smeralda deckplan, starting from Deck 4 to Deck 20. Truly agreeing with its Italian roots, each deck is labelled with Italian cities and towns.
The Palermo deck mainly has cabin rooms. You can find a series of Inside Cabins, Ocean View Cabins, and Ocean View Premium Cabins on this deck, great for budget-conscious travellers.
The Taormina deck also features more cabin rooms. Here, along with Inside Cabins and Ocean View Cabins, there are also Balcony Cabins. The deck also features the Ristorante La Colombina, one of the ship’s main dining rooms, which serves Italian cuisine.
From this deck onwards, the real fun starts! You won’t find any cabin rooms here. On this level of Costa Smeralda, you’ll discover a series of entertainment venues, right from Teatro Sanremo, the ship’s main stage for live Broadway-style shows, to Atrium Colosseo with its large LED-screen walls, and spans three levels. This deck also features a photo studio, tour desks, the NatGeo Expedition Corner, a grand bar, Quelli Della Notte, which is a piano jazz club, and classy dining venues – Ristorante Arlecchino and Ristorante Il Meneghino.
A recreational deck, the Colosseo Lounge’s middle level, and Teatro Sanremo take center stage on this deck. You will find more shopping, dining, and lounging spaces on this deck, such as Sushino at Costa, Bar Il Mattino, Shops Galleria, Costa Shop, Area Foto – a photo gallery shop, Campari Bar, and Costa Design Museum. Ristorante Il Rugantino is the main dining venue on the deck. There is also a Lobby Hall, a Casino bar, and an infinity bar located on this deck. The deck offers open-air spaces which are perfect for a sunset stroll or a drink with a view. Smoking is allowed in designated open areas.
Deck 8, also known as Capri, offers a mix of cabin rooms and a recreational zone. On this deck, you come across a series of Inside Cabins and Balcony Cabin rooms, and suites at the aft of the cruise. The deck has a buffet service restaurant La Sagra dei Sapori Restaurant, a pizza place called Pizzeria Pummid’oro, a Teppanyaki Restaurant that serves oriental cuisine, Laboratorio Del Gusto, and two exclusive restaurants for suite guests and Costa Club members: Ristorante Bellavista and Ristorante Panorama. Also, you can shop your heart out at Piazza Trastevere, Costa Boutique, and Shop Il Mercatino. The Atrium Colosseo stretches to this deck from Deck 4. It also has a promenade deck for serene strolls called Lungomare Riviera. This deck has open-air spaces for smoking.
This level of the Costa Smeralda cruise ship is again allotted exclusively for cabins. Apart from Inside Premium and Balcony Cabins, the deck comprises upscale accommodations such as Terrace with Sea View cabins, Suites, and Grand Suites.
Another level filled with accommodations. On this deck, you’ll find more Balcony Premium cabins, fewer Inside Premium cabins, and the deck’s corners hold suite accommodations.
The layout for both decks 11 and 12 is the same. You will find more cabins and suites on these levels. The corners of the deck feature Grand Suites with wrap-around balconies for unrivalled sea-viewing experiences.
Yep, we jumped directly to the 14th deck. That’s because many ships skip labelling the 13th level for the superstition surrounding the number 13. Moving on, Deck 14 and Deck 15 consist of more Inside Premium cabins, Balcony Premium cabins, and Suites at the corners of the cruise.
On Deck 16, the cruise offers an amalgam of cruise cabins, restaurants, bars, fitness centres, spas and salons, a gaming room, and a play area for kids. The main highlight here is the wellness zone – Centro Benessere Samsara, which has an enticing variety of pampering and relaxation rooms, right from 16 wellness treatment rooms and a thalassotherapy pool to a lavish Turkish bath. La Spiaggia Beach Club is yet another feature that guests will love to spend nonchalant time swimming in its pools and relaxing at its poolside bars.
Deck 17 is the Lido Deck of Costa Smeralda and features a handful of cabin rooms at the front. The rest of the deck is dotted with some of the most exciting recreational amenities. The midsection features the main swimming pool with a retractable, dome-shaped glass roof. It’s a great spot to enjoy chilled beverages and ice creams served at Amarillo Ice Cream Shop & Chocolate Bar and Nutella Cafe. Guests can have a fun time splashing in a spectacular water – The Aqua Park Smeralda. It also has La Spiaggia Beach Club, reserved as an adults-only zone, a mini-golf course, a high-ropes garden, a sports deck, and wall-climbing activities. Designated smoking zones are allotted on this deck.
From Deck 18, there are only recreational zones and no cabin rooms. Deck 18 features Settimo Cielo Beach, a sprawling sundeck with a pool and bar. Guests can also enjoy strolls on the Passeggiata Volare, a Skywalk to enjoy the breeze and the panoramic views of the sea and horizon. Some spots on this deck have smoking zones.
The second-last level on Costa Smeralda features Private 19 Solarium – an adults-only sundeck zone with a pool and jacuzzi. It also features an entrance to the Aqua Park water slides. This deck is mostly an adults-only area of the ship, great to soak up the sun in open-air spaces, lounge in shaded zones, and swim in pools. Smokers can make use of designated open-air smoking zones on this deck.
The top deck on the magnificent Costa Smeralda is a stellar, open space to relax and soak in the surrounding views. It has a sundeck with a sunbathing area that gives amazing views of the sea as you stroll on it. The deck also has smoking zones.
Conclusion
On a cruise holiday on the Costa Smeralda, you forget that you are on a giant floating vessel. The Italian flair and hospitality transforms a sea journey into a memorable stay at a lavish retreat packed with fun, food, and fantastic panoramas. Knowing the deckplan Costa Smeralda is necessary as the colossal ship can feel like a huge maze, and you might become overwhelmed and waste time searching for places if you do not know where the facilities and amenities are onboard. We hope these deck plan details help in making your soon-to-be-a-reality Costa Smeralda cruise vacation planning easier!

]]>The post Mauritius or Bali? Pick Your Perfect Tropical Getaway appeared first on Things to Do, City Guides, Itineraries, & Travel Tips - Rayna Tours Blog.
]]>Well, before you start to reach on a decision of Mauritius vs Bali which is better for a tropical holiday, let’s gain a bit of background and facts about both these gorgeous destinations.
A country in the Indian Ocean, located off the eastern coast of Africa, Mauritius is all about sunshine, sea, and sand. Contrary to popular belief, Mauritius isn’t just one island. The surrounding islands of St. Brandon and Rodrigues also form part of Mauritius. However, they aren’t as popular with tourists as the main island. The capital is Port Louis, and the island has a classy fusion of French, Indian, and African influences. It is exotic and often makes you feel as though it’s a destination to head to for a pampering holiday. It’s amazingly famous all over the world for its perfectly pristine beaches like Trou aux Biches, Flic en Flac, and Le Morne, tapering off into bright blue waters. Though exploring the vast beach shores is one of the finest things to do in Mauritius, there are many more surprises tucked within, such as the multi-hued Chamarel Geo Park and vivid wildlife and underwater life experiences that you can see there.
On the other hand, Bali is a tropical province nestled among the vast archipelago of Indonesia in Southeast Asia. Bali is Indonesia’s spotlight, a bustling island packed with quaint cafés, jaw-dropping beaches, lush rice terraces, ancient temples, and vibrant nightlife. Bali is energetic, dramatic, and will whisk you off to a number of thrilling adventures. Its coastline is undoubtedly stellar, but the verdant terraced fields, the rustic temples, and volcanic terrains add a shade of earthy tones to the aquamarine and beige-hued shores. While Mauritius has a classy, fine-dining kind of vibe, Bali is more country-like with a raw vibe that fits the tropical ambience.
It is true that both destinations are tropical havens, conjuring visions of sun-soaked escapes where turquoise waves kiss pristine shores, creating picture-postcard-perfect moments. Surely, both are bucket-list destinations, however, they offer unique and distinct vibes, experiences, and price tags.
Bali instantly hits you with images of swaying palm trees and terraced rice paddies, rather than sweeping white sandy beaches. Yes, there’s an amazing line-up of the world’s best beaches in Bali, but the place is more than just sea and sand. It also has some of the most stunning, Instagrammable spots, such as the Gate of Heaven and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.
Bali is best not just for honeymooners and couples, but also for solo backpackers, culture enthusiasts, digital nomads, families and adventure lovers. That’s because the place isn’t just about the beaches. So, if you resonate with the idea to do more than just enjoying lazy days in a beach resort and strolling on the sandy shores, Bali has much more to offer you. Temples abound, and you feel a divine vibe envelope you. The short hikes to waterfalls and rice terraces will keep you energised. The food is also affordable, spicy, and amazingly lip-smacking to cherish. When you book Bali packages, you aren’t just enjoying the sandy shores and emerald waters, but also hikes to Mount Batur, a visit to Tanah Lot, surfing in Uluwatu and dancing the night away in Bali’s electrifying nightlife.
Mauritius is the epitome of laid-back relaxation. The sun, the sea, and the sand have an intoxicating visual combination designed by nature to instantly relax your soul. It is elegant, serene, and inviting for nature lovers and beach-goers. Mauritius is inarguably a great spot for snorkelling and scuba diving sessions with its clear blue waters and stunning aquamarine life, but it isn’t the place for an exhilarating, adrenaline-spiking adventure holiday. It’s a haven for those seeking underwater adventures and sun-soaked relaxation.
Mauritius is a fine example of tropical luxury. Tucked into its own private landscaping along the sweeping stretches of beaches in Mauritius are some of the finest luxury resorts in the world. Here, you can settle into exquisite resorts like One&Only Le Saint Géran, Anantara Iko Mauritius Resorts and Villas, and Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok and experience resplendent days in private villas, infinity pools, and spa treatments that melt your stress away. The cuisine, blended with Creole, Indian, and French influences, offers a unique, flavourful experience unlike any you have ever experienced. Though honeymooners and romantic couples eye this destination as their favoured spot, it is often a charming place for family fun in Mauritius as well, to revel in luxury.
The trickiest part of planning a tropical vacation to either of these destinations is deciding when to go. Both destinations have distinct seasons and, being island destinations, are prone to shifts in wind, humidity, and weather influenced by the sea. The best time to visit Bali is from April to September, which is the dry season and the peak season for the destination. Other months see heavy downpours throughout Bali, but the east coast benefits from perfect swells for surfers to have the best wave-chasing experience of their lives. The best time to visit Mauritius, on the other hand, is from May to September when the sun shines bright and the water temptingly glistens, inviting you for soothing swims. The verdict? Bali takes the win with one extra sunny month, ideal for outdoor expeditions and adventures, against Mauritius.
Mauritius is smaller in size compared to Bali, and hence it’s easy to explore the island. Even for reaching Mauritius, the country’s position is convenient for all major airlines from the USA, Europe, and Asia to reach it. But the frequency is less. On the contrary, Bali is good for wallet-friendly travel and even has direct and frequent flights from most countries, making it easier and affordable to reach. Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport has better direct connectivity to cities in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Now to the golden question: Which is cheaper Bali or Mauritius? We believe that Bali right away takes the spotlight as a wallet-friendly destination compared to Mauritius. Even private tours and spa days are wallet-friendly. If you have a budget that you can stretch a bit and splurge, then you can have a lavish trip comfortably at one of those opulent Bali villas with infinity pools. Mauritius has more of an aura of opulence, and the resort prices are also on the higher end. Compared to that, Bali exudes affordability, not just in accommodations but also in flights, tours, transportation and food. Bali would cost around USD 90 to USD 260 per person per day for a comfortable trip, while Mauritius holiday packages might start from USD 200 onwards for a basic holiday.
Takeaway
So, Mauritius vs. Bali which is better for a holiday? The decision ultimately depends on your preferences. Both destinations allure travel enthusiasts with an irresistible tropical charm. Bali offers a vibrant Asian culture, stunning temples, lush landscapes, and an array of water and land adventures, along with beach getaways. Mauritius, on the other hand, presents pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and luxurious resorts accentuated with French and Creole influences. So, we insist you ask yourself: what exactly is the type of holiday you desire, the activities you wish to do, and how much is your budget, to make the best choice for your tropical getaway. Is it Bali’s buzz or Mauritius’ bliss that entices you? There, you have your answer!
