India

Singapore

Singapore’s Little India is a dazzling sight to witness during Diwali, with bright lights, kolam art and dioramas, lively cultural events, community gatherings, and a whole lot of enthusiasm.

In Canada, Diwali is a colourful, multicultural celebration.  The Indian diaspora particularly marks the occasion by decking up homes with lights and floral garlands. Music, dancing, and sharing mouth-watering Indian feasts also contribute to the celebration.

Thailand

Diwali is observed as Lam Kriyongh in Thailand. Similar to India, it is extravagantly celebrated with a fusion of Thai and Indian customs. As part of a custom, the people light incense and banana leaf lamps and let them float in rivers.

On Hari Dipavali, the Indian community in Malaysia celebrates by performing a ritual oil bath, prayers, shopping for new clothes, and sharing delectable sweets. This festival also features a lot of Indian food.
